Nirvana was an American Grunge Rock band formed in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington by Kurt Cobain
and Krist Novoselic. The band was a major part of the Grunge scene and helped popularize Alternative
Rock. Nirvana disbanded after the death of Kurt Cobain in 1994 and drummer Dave Grohl went on to
form the popular new band, the Foo Fighters. Rolling Stone magazine has listed Nirvana in their list of
the top 100 greatest (music) artists of all time.
